BEDFORDSHIRE PROTECT TEAM
Awareness. Protection. Prevention.
Teamwork

The Bedfordshire Cyber Protect Team helps local businesses, charities and community groups strengthen their resilience against cybercrime.

The team offers a range of free, tailored guidance based on the latest National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) advice.

As your local point of contact for expert cyber security support, they work closely with partners across Bedfordshire to ensure organisations receive practical, up‑to‑date advice that keeps them informed, engaged, and better protected.

The Cyber Choices programme was created to help people make informed choices and to use their cyber skills in a legal way. This is a national programme co-ordinated by the National Crime Agency and delivered by the Bedfordshire Cyber Choices teams

The Bedfordshire Cyber Protect Team works to improve cyber awareness, skills, and resilience across the county. We support businesses, charities, schools, and individual victims by providing clear guidance on cybercrime and the risks facing our communities.

Alongside this, we also deliver the Cyber Choices Programme—a national initiative created by the National Crime Agency and delivered locally by police Cyber Teams and Regional Organised Crime Units. The programme helps young people understand the law, make informed decisions when using technology, and channel their cyber abilities into positive, legal opportunities.

A Cyber Protect product originally developed by colleagues in the Metropolitan Police and now delivered locally by our team, the Cyber Escape Room offers a highly engaging and interactive learning experience. Using video, props, and problem‑solving challenges, the session introduces essential cyber security principles in a practical and memorable way.

Participants step into the role of a police cyber investigation team, racing against the clock to uncover evidence that proves a Cyber DCI has been framed by a criminal cyber gang. With just 30 minutes to solve the case, it’s a fast‑paced, competitive and enjoyable way to build cyber resilience.

What Cyber Choices Aims to Do

  • Explain the difference between legal and illegal cyber activity

  • Encourage informed and responsible use of technology

  • Increase awareness of the Computer Misuse Act 1990

  • Promote positive pathways into cyber education and careers

More information is available on the Cyber Choices website via the National Crime Agency.

Cyber Escape Room Experience

The team can deliver bespoke sessions for groups of all sizes, and the escape room exercise provides an effective way for participants to explore and understand the risks of cybercrime in both their workplace and personal lives.

The Escape Room is often combined with a bespoke presentation which can cover Protect and/or Cyber Choices. For example its popular for schools staff CPD sessions where he behaviours to look out for around cyber offending are covered along with how to refer suitable young people to our team.
